Debate: Girls are more intelligent than boys “Argue or Against the motion”

First of all you have to start by greeting everyone that’s presents in the debate ground by following this our amazing guide by saying:

Hello everyone and good day ladies and gentle men, panel of judges, accurate timekeeper, my fellow student, my co-debators and those presents to witness  todays debate.

My name is Juliet Nancy {you can replace the name with yours} i am  here to argue on the motion  who states that Girls are more intelligent than boys  but before i proceed, let us know the definition of Girls are more intelligent than boys and their importance and roles in our lives.

Honorable Chairperson, respected judges, esteemed opponents, and dear audience,

Today, I rise to speak in favour of the motion: “Girls are more intelligent than boys.” I do not claim that boys lack intelligence but I am here to prove, with logic and evidence, that on average, girls consistently outperform boys in multiple indicators of intelligence, especially in today’s world.

Let me begin with academic performance. In virtually every country, girls outperform boys in school. According to UNESCO and the OECD, girls get better grades in nearly every subject, including science and math traditionally considered male-dominated fields. If intelligence is measured by problem-solving ability, memory, comprehension, and performance, then clearly, girls are already ahead.

Reasons Why Girls are more intelligent than boys?

Girls demonstrate higher levels of self-discipline and focus from a younger age. Numerous psychological studies, such as those by Dr. Angela Duckworth of the University of Pennsylvania, have shown that girls exhibit better “executive functioning” that is, the ability to plan, concentrate, and control impulses. These are critical markers of intelligence in both academic and real world contexts.

Furthermore, girls have a stronger command of language and communication from early childhood. Research in developmental psychology confirms that girls begin speaking earlier, have larger vocabularies, and understand language structures more quickly. And what is intelligence if not the ability to understand, interpret, and communicate information?

Let us not forget emotional intelligence another form of intellect often underestimated. Girls generally have higher empathy, better social awareness, and greater emotional regulation. In a world where leadership, collaboration, and adaptability are key, emotional intelligence is not just important it’s essential.

Still skeptical? Let’s talk results. Women are entering universities in greater numbers than men and graduating at higher rates. They dominate in law, medicine, and business schools. In many developing countries, once given equal opportunities, girls quickly outperform their male peers.

Now, some may argue that intelligence is not just academic. True. But girls are not only winning in classrooms they are excelling in innovation, entrepreneurship, arts, and science. Think of figures like Marie Curie, Ada Lovelace, Malala Yousafzai, and contemporary CEOs and scientists who are breaking boundaries daily.

This is not a debate to demean boys, but to challenge outdated stereotypes. Intelligence is not about raw muscle or risky behaviour. It’s about adaptability, depth, and wisdom and in these areas, girls are consistently showing that they lead.

In conclusion, the evidence is clear. From better academic performance to stronger emotional intelligence and higher resilience, girls today are not only equal to boys they are often surpassing them in many meaningful measures of intelligence.

Thank you.
